The Robson Ranch Happy Tails Dog Club meets the second Saturday of the month at 10:30 a.m., in the Creative Arts and Technology Center building. We invite everyone who has a dog or is interested in dogs to join our club. New member dues are $10 per household per year, and renewal is $5.
The club’s first meeting for 2021 was held on Oct. 9, and our guest speaker was Stephanie Volm and her rescue foster dog Squid. Stephanie is a volunteer from EARS (Education & Animal Rescue Society), and she explained to our club members what exactly they do. EARS rescues dogs, usually with health issues, from area shelters and places them in foster homes where they care for them until they are healthy, trained, and socialized. EARS then finds the perfect home for them. A lot of hard work and dedication goes into each dog they rescue. They also work with many other rescue organizations, including bird, small mammal, and a pig rescue. All attendees thoroughly enjoyed the presentation and learning more about EARS, an organization that Happy Tails supports and donates to.
Members who attended included Melissa Crabill, Jessee Lovelace, Renee Lozano, Sandy McAfee, Karen McGraw, Linda Provenzano, and board members Rebecca Laschinger, Donna Steibel, Linda Waltak, and Lorraine Wilson.
The next meeting will be held on Saturday, Dec. 11, and we will have a speaker from Humane Now, a dog rescue located in Argyle.
