For the entire month of April, Happy Tails Dog Club will be conducting an animal food drive at Robson Ranch to benefit the Pet Food Pantry at the Linda McNatt/City of Denton Animal Shelter, Our Daily Bread, SPAN Meals on Wheels Senior Paws, and the Denton Veterans Association. Please look for announcements in the weekly HOA announcements for locations in Robson Ranch to drop off your donations.

Happy Tails Dog Club’s scheduled meeting for March 11 was canceled due to the closure and remodel of the CATC building. However, we had a table at the Robson Ranch Clubs and Activities Open House scheduled that same day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the clubhouse. Board members Sandy McAfee, Donna Steibel, Kim Grasser, and Lorraine Wilson manned the booth during the Open House, and not only did they get to see a lot of our current members, but we had several new members join! Please join our club in welcoming new members Kimberly White, Dotty Germino, Roy and Molly Meyer, Greg and Jan Hennings, Janey Pavley and Fred Ulrich, Linda and Jim Baker, and Phyllis Bargren!

Beautiful new brochures were created for the Open House, along with gift bags filled with dog treats and lots of great chocolates—hope a few of you were able to get some! In addition, a beautiful gift basket was put together by Kim, our very own Madame Secretary. Darrell Williams from our neighboring booth, the Robson Ranch Rock and Roll Club, pulled out the winning ticket of our very own member, Christine Lovelace!

At our April 8 meeting the guest speaker was Kit Perry, dog trainer and behavior consultant. Kit graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology in 2004 from Northwestern State University. From 2004 to 2012, she trained animals in zoos, including elephants, mountain lions, tigers, monkeys, birds, and goats. In 2012 Kit put her focus on training dogs and in 2021 moved her company to the Denton area to pursue a master’s degree in behavior analysis, with a focus in animal behavior, at UNT. To find further information on Kit, go to her website creature-coach.com.

Happy Tails Dog Club sponsors a Facebook Page called Robson Ranch Texas – All About Dogs. To join the Facebook page, go to facebook.com/groups/741914577025928. You will be asked a couple of basic questions, as this allows us to keep the page exclusively for Robson Ranch residents. Hope to see you all out there soon!

Happy Tails Dog Club meetings are held the second Saturday of each month in the CATC building, Room 103, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Membership dues are $10 per household, and renewal dues are still only $5. Further information about Happy Tails Dog Club can be found on our website rrhappytailsdogclub.weebly.com.
