It’s Hot! But the Robson Ranch Music Club Is ‘Cool’!

Frances Hackley, Publicity Chair

The Robson Ranch Music Club is approaching 20 years. That is very cool! In fact, this club is “cool”! The club was the first to bring live entertainment to the community way back in 2004. Some members from those early beginnings are still members and part of the choir to this day! Now, that is “cool,” indeed!

The choir is on summer break right now, but that will end soon. The group will be getting their music folder and schedule in mid-August, with rehearsals beginning Monday, Sept. 11. Though everyone does enjoy the time off, they really look forward to getting back at it. The challenge of learning new music and improving their skill is extremely rewarding. Of course, getting reacquainted with your fellow warblers is always fun, too.

We would like to give a big welcome and shout-out to the new members of our choir: Robin Brewton, Douglas Fox, Penny Fox, Frankie Germany, and Jean Macri. They will be making their Robson debut at our Veterans Day Concert. In fact, the Robson Veterans Day Concert is the first concert the choir performed in 2004. As always, the concerts are performed on Veterans Day, Nov. 11. This year the two concerts, one at 11 a.m. and one at 7 p.m., are on a Saturday. I may be just a bit biased, but nobody honors our veterans better than we do here at Robson. If you have not been to our Veterans Day Concert, you have definitely missed out. Here at Robson, you are invited to be a proud American. What better way to do that than to come and participate in our Veterans Day Concert! Watch for dates of ticket sales in November.

The club also sponsors other music events. These events help raise money to fund our choir. Directors, pianists, and music (believe it or not) are not free. We are sincerely grateful to the community and our “Gold Inner Circle” sponsors for their continued support. The club is introducing Music Bingo for the first time to Robson on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. Hope all can enjoy this song-loving fun way to play the good old game of Bingo! Call it Singo–Songo—no matter, it is a wonderful time to “mingo”! Plus, you may win a prize!

Then, folks, you will want to start getting your costumes ready, because before you know it, it is Scaryoke time! Mark your calendar for Friday, Oct. 27, and come and be part of this frightfully fun evening of ghoulish characters (your neighbors). The year ends with our holiday concerts, Christmas at the Ranch, on Dec. 16 and 17.
