The Jewish Friendship Group met at the clubhouse on September 10 to attend our monthly brunch. The event was hosted by Stan and Joyce Brien and attended by 30 members including new folks who we are delighted to welcome to our group. JFG hosts monthly meetings on the second Sunday of the month with members bringing special treats that we all share and enjoy. So many of these favorite goodies are ones that we enjoyed growing up.
Our meetings are non-religious, but we do celebrate special holidays such as Hanukkah and Passover. This month begins the Jewish New Year, which is one of the holiest times for Jews.
Our monthly meetings are very good times to share with friends what is happening in our lives: travel, new grandchildren, movies, plays, books. Only one person of a couple has to be Jewish to attend, but we also have single members. October’s meeting will not be held at the Ranch because of Temple Kol Ami’s annual food truck fundraiser in Flower Mound. Most of our members wanted to attend this super event, and so we will meet again on November 13. If you would like additional information or have questions, please call Phyllis Ayers at 262-3009.
