Last month, we shared that the Robson Ranch Library has roughly 1,500 resident patrons. That’s a lot of people who share a love for literature! Here are a few more fun facts about our beautiful library:
- Its catalog currently contains a collection of 3,688 pieces of media, including hardback and large print books, puzzles, movies, and audiobooks, featuring:
338 puzzles that can be checked out, from a couple of dozen pieces to thousands
193 large print books
1,413 works of fiction
- Plus, our collection includes more than 700 paperbacks, which are now housed in the first set of freestanding bookshelves to the right as you walk in. All hardbacks are now conveniently shelved against the walls. Thank you to Lorraine Wilson for all your hard work moving those books!
- Magazines are for the taking on the rack near the large print books. We invite you to drop off your magazines (three months old or newer) to share with your Robson neighbors.
- Donations are gratefully accepted! As a “current library” with limited space, we can only accept books that meet the following criteria:
Clean, with bindings and covers intact,
Fiction published within the last three years,
Nonfiction published within the last five years, and
Other materials should be complete and in original packaging.
We know that many of you have fabulous and cherished book collections you would love to donate, and we regret that we cannot accept them all. The library can provide a more complete overview of our donation selection process.
See you at the Friends of the Library (FOL) annual meeting
All FOL members are invited to the Friends of the Library annual meeting on Wednesday, July 16, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in the library.
We encourage all library patrons to join Friends of the Library. Dues are just $10 annually and go toward the purchase of books, subscriptions, supplies, equipment, volunteer recognition, and other events. You can join/renew online at rrtxfol.org or in the library.
Don’t clean your house. Hold your book club meetings in the library!
The library is hosting book club meetings. If interested, call or visit the library.
