Since 2009 the Kiwanis Club of Robson Ranch has awarded scholarships to deserving students attending TWU and UNT. Over these years we have given 14 scholarships to help deserving students who have excelled academically, have provided community service and have demonstrated leadership skills. This year is no different. A review committee comprised of Jim Galbraith, Ralph Bunker, Cathy Jenkins, Bill Rauhauser and Brenda Jones, were tasked with the responsibility of screening multiple deserving students for this year’s honorees. Two students rose to the top and were both named 2015 KCRR Foundation Award Recipients that included a cash award.

Erika Loreyn Agpawa is from Garland. Erika graduated from Sachse High School and entered TWU in 2013 and is pursuing a degree in nursing. She was a member of Key Club in high school and has been involved in many community service projects while at TWU. She will graduate in 2017 and hopes to be an RN working in the ER or Pediatrics. Ultimately she hopes to provide medical services to people in developing countries around the world. Erika clearly embodies the ideals of Kiwanis and was an obvious choice.

Almas Ali is originally from Saudi Arabia and graduated from the Pakistan International School before entering TWU in 2012. She graduated cum laude from TWU with a Bachelor Degree in Finance, is currently pursuing an MBA degree in accounting and hopes to pass the CPA exam. She has been active in a number of community service projects at TWU and is looking forward to a summer internship experience working in finance with one of the Big Four accounting firms.

Kiwanis at Robson Ranch is involved in multiple fundraisers throughout the year to provide funding for community outreach, especially for kids. It is our mission. It is our passion. Your support is deeply appreciated. The community comes together. We had record sales at both the recent garage sale and silent auction. Thank you.

If you are a like-minded individual who enjoys service, please come by one of our meetings. We meet on the first and third Friday of the month in the Bandera Room of the clubhouse. Socializing begins at 8:30 a.m. with the program starting at 9:00 a.m.
