Spring is finally here … warmer weather, tulips, daffodils, soft rains, and lots of activity in our Robson Ranch, Texas, community—some of which has already begun.
Thank you, Robson Ranch residents, for coming out to our successful Clubs & Activities Open House on Saturday, March 5, and welcome all our new residents who attended. We had a fantastic turnout, with many of you signing up for activities.
With warmer weather here and more approaching, you’ll see most of our Friday Market Vendors returning in full force, along with several new vendors, and music on occasion. Check out our website rrlwc.com for a list of all our vendors and their offerings. Many will take an order online and have it pick-up ready for you.
On Thursday, March 10, we were privileged to present, once again, Laura Austin, P.T., M.S., DPT, NCS, DOR, and her partner B.J. Brewer, PTA, who carries on the diagnosis to treatment at Select Rehabilitation Hospital where they both work with patients diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. Many of you asked specific questions and were greatly helped by the answers. The Living Well Committee continues to find and secure wonderful speakers monthly, each knowledgeable and certified with vital information. Check our website rrlwc.com for a list of the upcoming speakers, and mark your calendars so you don’t miss a-one. If you missed this presentation and want the information sheets handed out at the event, please email Claudia Caporale at [email protected].
So, what’s coming up?
On April 16 the Homeowners Association and Living Well Committee will sponsor its 16th Annual Health Fair. This is a huge event with medical and professional providers offering important information, all in one convenient place. You’ll find providers of dentistry, home health, urology, orthopedics, medical equipment, hearing, rehab, chiropractic, physical therapy, pharmacy, and others. Be ready with your questions and take advantage of their knowledge and suggestions.
You’ll also want to start thinking about which activities you’ll compete at our annual Olympics in September. This is a fun event with residents challenging each other in almost every activity that’s offered here at Robson Ranch. Dates and times for pre-registration will be announced in the months to come. In the meantime, practice and prepare! Photos of last year’s Olympics are on our website.
Keep your health in check. Blood pressure checks on Wednesdays at the clubhouse and weekly three-mile walks with Gil will help keep you fit. (If you’re a medical professional and have a few hours to spare on a Wednesday morning and want to help with blood pressure checks, please contact Joyce Ambre at 940-262-3425.)
If you are in need of comfort and support after the passing of your partner or loved one, please join our Reflective Sharing Group. We currently meet on the first Thursday of each month at 1 p.m. in the clubhouse; however, we’re presently re-evaluating our meeting times, so I encourage you to email Claudia Caporale at [email protected] for updated information.
Be well, get out, and enjoy the warmer weather!
