Red Hat sisters are a kindred group of ladies who bind together in a spirit of friendship and fun. Need a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on, or just someone to listen? They are always there for you. UNLESS you give them a glass of wine, a heaping plate of goodies and place a game of chance before them. Then all bets are off. Katherine Vess, assisted by Joyce Brein, Fern Hogan and Sally Hampton, hosted the Red Hat Robson Ranchers at her home for an afternoon of drinks, snacks and games. Bearing trays of finger foods, the sisters gathered for a fun-filled afternoon of friendly competition. Mexican Train and card games were the weapons of choice. As the afternoon wore on and the plates grew empty and the glasses were refilled, the level of chatter increased and the drive to win intensified. Happy was the sound of the winner, and sad were the groans of those who did not. Sometimes it just makes your day to go out first in Mexican Train. It is moments such as this that make the sisterhood of Red Hats special: fun, togetherness and understanding. What a special afternoon.
