The Community Outreach Committee of the Robson Ranch Women’s Club is once again organizing a Backpack Drive for children whose families are impacted by domestic abuse. The Denton County Friends of the Family has asked this committee to collect essential back-to-school items as defined by the Denton Independent School District, and place them in backpacks for elementary and middle/high school children. Last year, the Community Outreach committee worked on a similar drive and provided 197 backpacks to Friends of the Family for distribution to children being helped by the organization.

Just as the entire Robson Ranch community helped with this project last year, the Community Outreach committee is asking for that same support. To help with making children’s reentry to school this fall easier, the committee is asking that homeowners do five things: 1) make a commitment to help, 2) get a list of back-to-school items now available on the Women’s Club website, www.rrwomensclub.org, 3) purchase and fill a backpack with all of the items on the list, 4) bring the fully completed backpack to the clubhouse parking lot from 9 to 11 a.m., Thursday, July 29, and 5) most important, know that you have helped a child who could really use that help.
