Music and Bingo, a Winning Combo!

Frances Hackley, Publicity Chair

Bingo! We have a winner! The Music Club sponsored their first Music Bingo on Aug. 13. Holy Moly Guacamole! Did we have fun! Music of the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s was the theme. Fun-loving folks listened to great music, sang along, and did a little dancing, all while vying for prizes. Participants listened to familiar songs, trying to remember the title of the tune so they could find it on their playing card. Alas! Many came prepared with the Shazam app loaded on their phones. Some apparently played the game while cruising. The club gave away four formidable prizes. They were two movie passes, a gift card to Joe’s Italian Restaurant, two tickets to the Crayola Experience, and four any day tickets to the North Texas Fair and Rodeo. The club is looking forward to hosting another Music Bingo soon.

The Music Club would also like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that North Texas Giving Day (NTGD) is just around the corner. This year the day is Sept. 21. The Music Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit; thus, your contribution is tax deductible. The club holds events and entertainment opportunities throughout the year, raising money to fund our choir concerts. The portal to NTGD is open now if you think you may forget to give on Sept. 21. Anyone from anywhere can donate. The club appreciates the wonderful support from our community, and we ask you to consider a donation. To donate, go to NTGD.org, and in the search bar, type “Robson Ranch Music Club.” No amount is too small but is hugely appreciated!

Then get ready for the frightfully fun Scaryoke on Oct. 27. This annual karaoke and dance costume party is always a hoot! Start getting your costumes ready. Prizes will be awarded for the Most Creative, Scariest, and Funniest.

In other news, the Robson Community Choir is set to start rehearsals in September. We are welcoming five new singers. They are Frankie Germany, Jean Macri, Douglas Fox, Penny Fox, and Robin Brewton. The choir has two concerts scheduled through the end of the year. First, the annual Robson Ranch give the veterans their due Veterans Day Concert is on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, in the morning at 11 a.m. and again in the evening at 7 p.m. Nobody honors veterans better than we do here on the Ranch. Support Our Troops (SOT) will have their morning ceremony, and their auction will be in the clubhouse lobby. All makes for a momentous day to remember our patriots.

The choir will then perform “Christmas at the Ranch,” our annual holiday concert. There will be two concerts performed: One on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 7 p.m. and one on Sunday, Dec. 17, at 4 p.m. These concerts offer the chance to hear some of our cherished holiday tunes while spreading the warmth and love of the season to the community.
