Nature talks…are you listening? Quito, Equador and the Galapagos Islands

Mark your calendar for October 20, 7:30 p.m., and plan to attend the special Road Runners presentation with Celebrity Cruises and Brent Nixon, renowned naturalist, published author and founder of Nature Talks…Are You Listening? You will get a sampling of what adventures await in the Galapagos Islands. There will be table seating, and wine will be served.

Mr. Nixon speaks to groups on cruise ships, school groups and adult travelers on experiencing and protecting the plants and animals in their natural habitats in exotic ecosystems. He is active in conservation efforts to protect scarce plant and animal species worldwide.

If you attended Mr. Nixon’s last presentation at the Ranch, you will recall that he has an entertaining style and is knowledgeable on the specifics of touring natural habitats. His presentation is highlighted with projected pictures of Ecuador and the six Galapagos islands: Baltra, Daphne, Espanola, Floreana, Isabela and Santa Cruz.

The Celebrity Cruise of the Galapagos begins in the capital city of Quito, Ecuador. After a restful night at the J. W. Marriott hotel, there is a full-day guided tour of this historical city, including a visit to the Equator Line at the Middle of the World Park and Museum.

Celebrity says, “To say that you’ll have unique experiences while visiting the islands is an epic understatement. From snorkeling with sea turtles and snapping up-close photos of giant tortoises to finding yourself amongst hundreds of marine iguanas and spying species of birds indigenous only to the Galapagos, you will see things that few have had the chance to see for themselves.” Mr. Nixon will speak and answer questions about the islands while sharing his personal experiences there.

The first available opening to book this trip aboard the Celebrity Xpedition, Celebrity Cruise’s 100-guest mega yacht comes in 2017. The Road Runners will offer this trip if there is enough member interest. Consider attending this presentation on October 20 at 7:30 p.m. to hear about this fantastic  adventure.
