For animal lovers, few things feel better than knowing you helped give a homeless, injured or vulnerable animal a second chance. On Thursday, Sept. 17, North Texas Giving Day gives Robson Ranch residents an opportunity to do exactly that—and you don’t even have to wait until September to begin giving!
Organized by the Communities Foundation of Texas, North Texas Giving Day (www.northtexasgivingday.org.) has grown into one of the nation’s largest community-wide giving events, bringing together thousands of nonprofits and donors who want to make a difference right here in North Texas.
For the many animal lovers at Robson Ranch, two local organizations deserve special consideration this year: Humane Tomorrow and the Denton Animal Support Foundation (DASF).
Humane Tomorrow in Argyle is dedicated to giving dogs and cats a second chance at happy, healthy lives. This volunteer-driven nonprofit rescues animals in need, provides foster homes and veterinary care, and matches them with loving forever families. Its programs go even further, offering spay/neuter assistance, helping families with critical veterinary expenses through Flower’s Fund, and transporting Texas shelter dogs to areas with greater adoption opportunities through Love on Wheels. Through rescue, adoption, education and community support, Humane Tomorrow works every day to keep pets safe, loved and where they belong.
Denton Animal Support Foundation (DASF) has an equally important mission: saving more Denton area animals. The organization supports the Linda McNatt Animal Care and Adoption Center, as well as the Pet Food Bank and animal-welfare programs throughout our community. DASF receives no federal, state, county or city funding and depends on private donations, grants and fundraising to support its work.
Many Robson Ranch residents already demonstrate their love for animals through donations, volunteering, fostering, adopting and supporting local shelters and rescue organizations. North Texas Giving Day is another opportunity for our community to show just how big our collective heart can be.
You don’t need to make a huge donation to make a difference. Ten dollars, $25, or $50—when combined with gifts from hundreds of other animal lovers—can provide food, vaccinations, medical treatment, adoption assistance and, ultimately, another chance at life.
