Back in the Northwest corridor of Robson Ranch you will come upon Osprey Lane, Brant Way (cul de sac), Cinnamon Drive and part of Willet Way/Court which is also known as Robson’s 10-2 section. This section has been named the NxNW (North by Northwest) neighborhood by the residents of these streets.
This is a very active neighborhood with monthly Ladies Whine Chat, Dine Around, Drinks on the Driveway, potlucks, Wine Club, Bunco groups, holiday decorating just to name a few. The first ever Chili Cookoff was a huge success. Though this neighborhood is still in its infancy of about two years, all the activities and socializing have garnered many lifelong friendships.
You will also find these neighbors with big hearts and the giving spirit, not only to each other but to others in our community. Recent recipients of NxNW generosity was Support Our Troops (SOT) and the Motorcycle Club request for the coat ride for Coats 4 Kids.
Request are made at the ladies monthly Whine Chat and flyers go out to the neighborhood in request for their support of an event or need and there is always a resounding response. Recently donations of cash and other items were received which resulted in the NxNW neighbors providing eight gift baskets of various offerings and gift cards to SOT for their Veterans Day silent auction fundraiser. This is one of the biggest events for SOT that provides for material, physical, and emotional needs of our military at home and abroad. We also had many from the neighborhood bid on items at the auction in further support of this great cause.
When a request was put out to the neighborhood that the RR Motorcycle Club was participating in a coat ride for the kids of Denton County, of course the neighborhood answered the call. There will be many preschool through high school kids in the Denton County Schools that will be much warmer this season due to the generosity of NxNW with over 30 new coats just from our little neighborhood. Some of these kids have never had a new coat. Robson as a whole has been generous in past years for this cause.
It’s a great day in the neighborhood and as folks are preparing their homes inside and out for the holiday season, the NxNW neighbors send our wishes for a great holiday season and we’ll be seeing you around the Ranch!
