Last month the Material Girls Club traveled to the new Boxcar Quilts location out in the country. We needed explicit directions to find it and discovered it was located in a barn. Yep, a real barn. But it was unlike any other barn I have ever seen. This one has been turned into a beautiful, spacious quilt store totally different from all of the other quilt stores that are so crammed with bolts of fabric it is difficult to move around them.

After lots of time to shop, we moved on to a box lunch in their huge classroom and then to a tour of their antique store. Our last stop was the Patterson-Appleton Arts Center for the Denton Quilt Guild exhibit “Tree of Life.” Several of our members had projects on display. And then there were a few who snuck off to yet another quilt store. Before we left, I promised myself I would not add anything else to my stash. Well, that promise went down the tubes when I found yet more I couldn’t resist, along with others I saw carrying out bags.
