The weather could not have cooperated more for the Chip for Pink Par 3 event hosted by WLN and WGA and chaired by Connie Griswold and Cindy Sterling. One of a series of fundraising events masterminded by Pink Co-Chairs Danna Winiesdorffer and Dee Wallace, the Par 3 was held to support the Sherman-based charity Women Rock, Inc. This nonprofit organization relies solely on donations and supports women with breast cancer in our area.

One hundred sixty-two golfers spanned out over all three courses, raising nearly $2,000 through entry fees and door prize tickets. While no scores were recorded, it was a win for all who participated. Those involved behind the scenes hope it will become an annual event.

There are plenty more chances to get in on the fun. Plan to join in on one of the other planned events around the Ranch: Bocce for a Cure Tournament (June 17), Casita Boys (Aug. 5), Dink for Pink Pickleball Shootout (Aug. 12), Pink Fling Big Swingn’ Band Concert and Dance (Sept. 12), Throw for a Cure Softball Derby (September date TBA), Unmask Cancer Ladies Golf Tournament (Oct. 11), Studs and Diamonds Country Band Concert (Oct. 21).
