Pilot Knob Rotary Club (PKRC) sponsored the second blood drive of 2026 on March 21 in conjunction with the HOA Health Fair. Carter BloodCare reported we collected 50 pints of whole blood and with the 49 units collected Jan. 17 the calendar total is 99 units. Scheduling the blood drive to coincide with the HOA Health Fair proved beneficial as we had a record number of 14 walk-ups. This is an awesome result and many thanks to both Robson and non-Robson donors. A big thank you also to the Carter BloodCare staff, Shelbi Berg, Linda Caron and others with the Robson Ranch HOA.

Every Whole Blood donation has the potential to save three lives (red blood cells, platelets, plasma) and every Double Red donation can save two lives. America has the safest and most abundant blood supply in the world.  That’s because of Americans who know every privilege has a corresponding responsibility, and every right has a corresponding duty.  The practice of giving also aligns with altruistic behaviors that have been linked to better health outcomes and increased longevity. Rotarians understand completely.

Web Bliss, PKRC lead for blood drives, has provided the remaining dates for 2026: May 16, Sept. 12 and Nov. 14. Mark your calendar now and look for HOA announcements as we get closer to the dates.
