Two more sporting events turned the Ranch Pink in recent weeks in a continued effort to have fun while raising money for a charity supporting breast cancer patients. This time, the games were Texas Toss and Bocce.
The organizers for Texas Toss were Dale James and Anne Jones. In addition to the toss event, organizers unveiled two new items: a Bra Pong Game, built by Karen Carr, and a prayer wall for participants to take a moment and reflect on how cancer has touched their lives. Winners for Texas Toss were Ed and Mary Sholty, Steve and Jayne Gornick, and Mark and Paula Hemingway.
Bocce participants gathered bright and early, enjoying a breakfast provided by Yvonne Callahan and team play organized by Barb Trotter and Jan Riddle. The first-place team winning the Dolly Parton Award was comprised of Dave Riddle, Darla Tuttle, Elaine Barnett, Edward Barnett, Bev Almaguer, Rudy Almaguer, Dale Brekke, Cindy Brekke, Tim Trotter, and Erica Bradley. A special award for grit and determination, dubbed The Training Bra Award, went to Cynthia McPhaul, Tiffany Ramsey, Deb Loman, Bobbie Witt, Jacqueline Ford, Jacki Pettiford, Doris Allen, Pat Henning, Christina Beck, and Renee Smith.
Money raised by these events and others will be donated to the nonprofit Women Rock, Inc., a North Texas charity that supports people with breast cancer.
We are grateful to the following Unmask Cancer tournament sponsors: ulrich medical USA, Yvonne Callahan, Wallis and Suzy Spangler, Rodney Landscape Service, Proscapes Lawn and Tree Care, Dermatology Solutions, and Adams Exterminating.
