The first annual Praise & Worship (P&W) Club Christmas Concert, “Christmas Pops 2022,” raised $3,455 for the Denton County Friends of the Family (DCFOF) at the Dec. 20 concert. The attendance was approximately 280 joyful attendees at the Denton RR clubhouse. The donations consisted of both ticket sales and additional donations by RR Denton residents.
The concert consisted of RR Denton residents performing various genres of music with support from several non-residents. RR residents included Michele Brandt (lead vocalist), Paul Neal (lead guitar), Steve McGuire (bass guitar) Tony Ross (drums), and Chris Corbitt (sound engineer). Non-residents in the performance included Stephanie Oldenkamp (vocalist), Marbella Green (vocalist), Daniel Oldenkamp (piano), and Jake Tisdell (mandolin).
The Christmas Pops program included the following: Stephanie Oldenkamp performing “Everybody’s Waiting for the Man With the Bag,” “Mele Kalikimaka,” and “Cold Hard Cash,” followed by Marabella Green performing “That’s What Christmas Means to Me,” “Christmas Waltz,” and “It’s Christmas, Baby, Please Come Home.” Our featured vocalist, RR resident Michele Brandt, then performed “Please Come Home for Christmas,” “Christmas Time in Texas,” “Rockin Round the Christmas Tree,” “Sleigh Ride,” “Winter Wonderland,” “Blue Christmas,” and “Grown Up Christmas List.” The performance concluded with a beautiful trio performance by Michele, Stephanie, and Marbella of “What Child Is This.”
DCFOF provides compassionate, comprehensive services to those impacted by rape, sexual abuse, and domestic violence, while partnering with our community to promote safety, hope, healing, justice, and prevention.
Again, the P&W Club thanks all those who came out to support DCFOF and all of our performance team members and the time they committed for a great concert! We look forward to Christmas Pops 2023!
