Several Robson Red Raiders gathered on March 24 to enjoy the wines from Edge of the Lake (EoL) Vineyard. Chris McIntosh, winemaker and co-owner, and his wife Cynthia poured EoL wines from several different vintages and varietals. The wonderful wines were paired with many different meats, cheeses, condiments and appetizers. Chris shared how every bottle of wine has a unique story of how it is made and how it is named. Hosts for the evening were Scott and Cindy Cooksey and Pat and Terry Garrett.

If you haven’t visited Edge of the Lake, you should! It is just a quick 30-minute drive north of the Ranch and is located on the beautiful shores of Lake Ray Roberts. EoL is the only vineyard and winery on the shores of a lake in Texas.

EoL is also the most award winning winery in North Texas and has been selected numerous times as the featured wine for the Fort Worth stock show and rodeo.

Edge of the Lake has a great wine club that costs nothing to join. They also have many special celebrations and dinners throughout the year.

Visit the EoL website at: www.edgeofthelakevineyard.com or better yet, spring is a great time to visit the Vineyard, get a glass or tasting of several wines, and enjoy the view of Lake Ray Roberts. Their food is wonderful as well.

Also—if your group or someone you know would like to host a wine tasting in your home, Chris and Cynthia are more than willing to come back to the Ranch. There is a nominal cost per person and a minimum number of persons needed to hold a tasting. But rest assured, it is worth it! Contact Don Roberts at donmroberts@sbcglobal.com, and he’d be happy to introduce you to Chris and Cynthia. Or contact Chris and Cynthia directly on their website.
