The Robson Ranch Republican Club launched its fall season on Sept. 2 with a meeting marked by renewed purpose, strong attendance, and a program that set the tone for an active and engaged year ahead.

The evening began with the announcement of the Club’s new Chaplain for the 2026–27 term, Dr. Tony Jeffrey, who opened the meeting with a heartfelt and uplifting invocation. Immediately following the invocation, Precinct Chairs Dave Parker (4185) and Don Hicks (4186) led the pledges.

Special Recognition: Lifetime Achievement Award

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to Mr. John Romeo, honoring his extraordinary dedication to the Club’s July 4th parade efforts over the past five years. His creativity and unwavering commitment have elevated the parade into a signature Robson Ranch tradition.

Business Meeting and Organizational Updates

A brief business meeting encouraged members to review the proposed revisions to the Bylaws and Policies and Procedures, now available on the Club website. These updates primarily align both documents with current operations and strengthen clarity for future leadership and membership. A revised budget was also presented for member consideration.

With business concluded, the meeting transitioned to the evening’s featured program.

Featured Speaker: Rep. Andy Hopper—“Texas: The Last Stand for the Western World”

State Representative Andy Hopper delivered a compelling and highly informative presentation titled Texas: The Last Stand for the Western World. His remarks covered a wide range of issues shaping Texas politics and policy heading into the upcoming Republican Party of Texas (RPT) convention and the 90th Legislative Session.

Rep. Hopper addressed:

* Legislative priorities for the RPT and the 90th Session

* Ongoing property tax fight efforts

* Concerns surrounding Islamification in Texas

* Constituent issues including data centers, flock cameras, and midterm election challenges

* Election security and the importance of voter participation

* Protecting Texas land and expanding 2887G

* Ending H 1B usage in Texas

* Safeguarding individual property rights

He offered a detailed compare and contrast of the two proposed property tax relief plans—one from Governor Abbott and one from Lt. Governor Dan Patrick—emphasizing that property tax reform is expected to be among the top five agenda items this session.

Before closing, he invited members to attend his upcoming fundraising event on Sept. 24 at the Lucky Spur. Tickets available at Hopper4Texas.com.
