Spring is upon us and the Robson Ranch Garden Club members have been busy thinning and preparing their flowerbeds and brought the extras to share with the club. On March 18, the Garden Club had our annual plant drawings and our resident Master Gardener, Steve Simpson, gave an informative talk on what home owners should consider in order to have healthy turf grass. Here are a few of the highlights of Steve’s talk:

#1 Self soil test can be easy and inexpensive.

#2 Fertilization application based upon the soil test.

#3 Understanding the sprinkler controller setting will save water.

#4 Have an irrigation specialist check out your system in the early spring.

#5 Know the proper mower cutting height for a good-looking turf.

Remember all residents are invited to join the Garden Club for just $10 per household. We have formed a committee and will be looking for attractive yards for our “Yard of the Month” which we will extend to all residents here at the Ranch, so get busy planting, trimming, weeding and beautifying your lovely homes with attractive yards!
