Robson Ranch Republicans Celebrate Legislative Victories

Aug. 17, 2023, was an extremely hot day in Denton, Texas, but that didn’t stop the Robson Ranch Republican Club (RRRC) and the Denton County GOP from throwing the hottest event that Robson had seen in a long time. You knew from the moment you stepped out of your car that this was going to be a great night. The Texas flags seem to be waving to the beat of the music that was playing. The celebration of Republican Legislative Victories had a veritable Who’s Who of Denton County officials, with more than 30 elected officials present for the celebration.

There was quite the buzz in the room as it began to fill to near capacity with over 400 registered guests. It was going to be quite the night. There were refreshments, which included “Texas 3 Step” popcorn representing the steps to getting a bill passed—the House, the Senate, and the Governor—along with cupcakes decorated with handmade Republican elephants. Everyone seemed pleased that they could put a “little more money” in their pockets with the money-covered chocolates. Many of the Liberty Bells worked tirelessly to make this vision become a reality.

Republican Club President Tim McCormick and Republican Party GOP Chairman Brent Hagenbuch kicked off the event. Our guests were Senator Tan Parker and Representative Lynn Stucky, who represent Robson Ranch, along with Senator Drew Springer, Representatives Ben Bumgarner, Richard Hayes, Jared Patterson, and Kronda Thimesch, who represent the other areas of Denton County. The house lights went dark, and the song “Celebrate” rang out across the room. Each legislator entered the room to the cheers of the audience, taking their place on stage as the music changed to “Sign Sealed, Delivered for You Denton County.”

Each of what we call the “Magnificent Seven” shared about what it took to get these bills passed and how they benefit Denton County residents.

Some of the highlights of the night were hearing how the property tax bill was going to save us all money in the future—around $1,300!

Senator Patterson shared how several bills will make sex trafficking in Texas harder, which will make it safer for our children and grandchildren.

Border Security was a bill they were all very passionate about.

As the evening was coming to an end, many were heard commenting they had not had this much fun at a political event ever.

One RRRC member said it was so fun that he didn’t want to leave. Senator Tan Parker said, “It was a spectacular event.” “Best event I have been a part of in 12 years as a Legislator! Well done,” stated Senator Springer. “Awesome, fun, and informative event. The Robson Ranch Republican Club started something great!” Rep. Lynn Stucky exclaimed after the event.
