The Robson Ranch Women’s Club (RRWC) continues to be a big support to the community.
At the Women’s Club luncheon, Dianna Duncan announced that donations through Share the Blessings to Denton County Friends of the Family totaled $855. Lily Isham with Friends of the Family advised that these funds will be used by the call response teams for duffel bags, which are provided to survivors at hospitals and police stations with necessary items. There have been more than 100 responses this year.
At the Aug. 11 RRWC Community Outreach meeting, Executive Director Wendy McGee and Development Director Jenna Edwards from Our Daily Bread talked about their future direction and potential plans for the Welcome Home Pallet program.
Changes to the Welcome Home Pallet program are being finalized. A big thank you to Donna Gardner and Sherry Eason who volunteered to co-lead the Welcome Home Pallet project in 2026. They cannot do it alone and will be looking for volunteers to help them. The proposed plan will make a more streamlined process. More information will be forthcoming.
Upcoming Charity Events:
Carolyn Kelley has volunteered to collect sample toiletries (hair/skin care and makeup) and spare makeup bags for Denton County Friends of the Family through Sept. 30 for women who have fled with little more than the clothes on their backs.
The Handbags for Healing benefit for Denton County Friends of the Family is on Saturday, Sept. 13.
Denton Community Food Center participated for the first time in North Texas Giving Day in 2024. The 2025 North Texas Giving Day is Sept. 18.
Children’s Advocacy Center of North Texas’ premier fundraising event is Saturday, Sept. 20, at OMNI PGA Frisco Resort.
Our next meeting will be on Monday, Oct. 13, at 10 a.m. in the clubhouse. We will kick off Adopt-A-Family for Denton County Friends of the Family and other holiday projects.
