The Robson Ranch Women’s Club started the New Year with an engaging presentation by Dave Leiber, Dallas Morning News columnist. The multi-talented Mr. Leiber is the watchdog investigative columnist for the Dallas newspaper and is also a Certified Speaking Professional and author of four books.

A born and raised New Yorker, Dave gave a heartwarming and humorous talk about how he struggled to fit into Texas after he was hired by the Fort Worth Star Telegram as a columnist. Anyone can relate to his frustrations dealing with new surroundings and job including longing to fit into a pair of “store bought dungarees” from a local Western Wear store. Dave learned how to press the jeans and apply starch and purchased boots, a cowboy hat and went so far as to ride a bull in a community rodeo.

Thanks to a member of the Keller Women’s Club, Dave was introduced to his current wife, and he says she is “more lovely than he ever dreamed of.” With the help of his beautiful Texas wife and her two children and dog, he quickly grew to fit in and love Texas.
