The House Band (host) for the July meeting of the Rock & Roll Martini Group was Susan and David Parker. The House Band chose Tina Turner as the featured artist for the evening. The late Tina Turner was a singer, songwriter, and actress. Known as the “Queen of Rock & Roll,” she rose to prominence as the lead singer of the Ike & Tina Turner Revue before launching a successful career as a solo performer. The song “Proud Mary” was played at 100 decibels as all the lady Tinas in the party danced to the video (sorry, neighbors!). The outstanding Tina Turner look-alike costume and wig for the evening were worn by Rocker Trish Moore. The main dish for the evening was a slow-smoked pork shoulder. The Rockers (members) and guests filled in all the appetizers and desserts for the evening. The martinis for the evening were the “Nutbush City Limits,” “What’s Love Got to Do With It,” and “Proud Mary.” No screen doors or martini glasses were harmed during the party. Until next month, Rock On!
