Due to cold, rainy weather and muddy fields the Rockin’ Red Ranchers had to cancel their May trip to the Lavender Ridge Farms in Gainesville.
Hostesses Lore Carr, Kris Tarczon, Geraldine Gawle and Carol Solow immediately went into action with another plan, all indoors, to save the day.
Everyone went to the Denton Cinemark to see the comedy Mother’s Day and after the movie the Rockin’ Red Ranchers went to lunch at BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse. There was lots of conversation about sons, daughters and grandkids. Many of the ladies have trips planned this summer to visit family, go on family reunions, weddings and overseas travel. This is a wonderful, compassionate group of women offering sisterhood, fun, support and interesting subjects to think about. The companionship is just as valuable as the fun and frivolity. These ladies are comfortable sharing their troubles as well as their joys.
On May 22 everyone received an email from Queen Phyllis Ayers asking us to join Hoots Co-Coordinator Linda Terry to celebrate the grand opening of our new neighborhood Starbucks in Bartonville. They were going to have a ribbon cutting ceremony with many town dignitaries from the surrounding area. Three of our ladies, Linda Terry, Jan Utzman and Rosemary Weinstein, were ask by Marjorie Sullivan, Director of the Argyle Chamber of Commerce, to hold the ribbon and join in the ribbon cutting ceremony. We have many activities planned for the rest of the summer. In June we will be going to Texas Women’s University and in July we will have a Beach Pool Party.
