RR Catholic Community

Matt Gill

On April 11 members of the Robson Ranch Catholic Community gathered at the Robson Ranch clubhouse. Joan Bridges opened the meeting with prayer, then advised the members of the upcoming tour of Our Daily Bread and the May end-of-year social.

Marge Lane told the group that our donations, which were collected in March for Our Daily Bread, totaled 189 pounds consisting of pillows, blankets, sheets, and towels.

After asking for prayer requests, Joan introduced our speaker Matt Gill. Matt spoke on “The Power of the Pentecost and the Infant Church.” Matt explained how the infant church grew through the years and how, today, we still do what the early church did. We’ve held to the church’s teaching for the past 2000 years. The Catholic Church grew faster than anything in the world, even though the church and its members were persecuted. There were first 12 apostles, then 120 in the Upper Room, 3000, then 5000 converts by 33 A.D., then 200,000 within 31 years. Matt explained that if Christ had not ascended, we would not have the Holy Spirit and the Sacraments. Everyone in attendance agreed that Matt’s sharing of his knowledge was an enlightening experience, and all left with a better understanding of the infant church.

Next, Joan Bridges took the floor once again, and elections were held. Joan Bridges and Rita Paxton were unanimously re-elected as co-presidents, Marge Lane was re-elected to the position of Outreach, and Marion Napurano was re-elected as Communications.

The Robson Ranch Catholic Community held its end-of-year social gathering at the home of Mary and John Goodpaster on Tuesday, May 9, at 6 p.m. We are very grateful to the Goodpasters for offering their home for this event.

With summer fast approaching, there will be a greater need for bottled water at Our Daily Bread. If anyone wishes to donate bottled water, please contact Marion Napurano at [email protected] to make arrangements for pickup.

The May Social was the last gathering until September, and we will once again be holding gatherings at either the clubhouse or the CATC building. Please watch the HOA email announcements and personal emails for all upcoming gatherings. Until then, have a blessed summer, and we’ll see everyone in September.
