Democrats had historic gains in multiple Texas elections in 2018. To recap these wins and understand the party’s current local landscape, Sandy Swan, Executive Director of the Denton County Democratic Party, addressed the RR Democratic Club at its June monthly meeting.
Energized, the party is setting its sights on even more wins in 2020 at the national, state and local levels. With elections less than a year away, the Democratic field is already the most ethnically and racially diverse in history and has a record-breaking number of female candidates vying for a shot to represent Texans. To achieve these wins, Sandy outlined a variety of ways in which club members can become actively engaged through committee memberships, fundraising, community outreach and working as election volunteers.
Texas Democrats believe government exists to achieve together what we cannot achieve as individuals. Make a difference and join us on the fourth Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the clubhouse and become better informed on the issues affecting our community and nationwide.
