October has been a very exciting and busy month for the ladies of golf! On October 7 the annual Queen’s tournament was held, and 19 women all competed for the title. This particular tournament is quite unique, as 19 women all start at the first hole and one is eliminated at each hole until there is a reigning Queen at the 18th. This year we congratulate Katheryn Claudy on winning the crown! We all would like to thank Cindy Bass and David Thatcher, our resident golf pro, for making this tournament possible. We know there is a lot of behind the scenes work that goes into planning and making it successful!

The other exciting and fun tournament held in October was the 2014 WGA Mixed Invitational on October 21. The WGA- sponsored tournament was comprised of 30 couples, each player either belonging to the MGA or the WGA. We thank Juan Del Tillman and Neva Rhead for putting this great event together. Congrats to the following players: First place team – Judy Cromer/Jerry Phillips, Margaret Irwin/John Metzler; second place team – Victoria Pettigrew/Stephen Pettigrew, Donna Phillips/Tom Holland; third place team – Gabie Bull/Paul Bull, Neva Rhead/Stephen StPierre; fourth place team – Sue Miloser/Mike Miloser, Sarah Ray/Wayne Cieslik.
