It was a full house for the final 2022 meeting/class for the Sassy Stampers Club on Nov. 19. Our club continues to grow, as we welcomed a new member into our fold. In place of the December meeting, we had a holiday party on Dec. 10. The holiday party is always great fun with games and great fellowship, as well as the gift exchange in which the participants can possibly score new crafting tools or supplies.
The November business meeting was conducted and included voting in new officers for 2023: JoAnn Gantos, president; Debbie Warrick, vice president; Bobbi Witt, secretary; and Denise Switzer will remain as treasurer. The outgoing board brought gifts for all those who volunteered their time and talents in 2022, from the set-up and take-down on class days, table teacher, project leaders, window displays, and the other duties that need to be done to help make this a great club. As the saying goes, “It takes a village.” Gratitude was given to the outgoing board for their dedication and hard work for the club.
Sassy Stampers created 26 different holiday or note card packets for the Support Our Troops (SOT) silent auction held annually on Veterans Day, Nov. 11. This year, the club had 26 packets, which is a record number of card packets donated, and made a record-high amount of $918 for SOT. All the cards made by the Stampers are donated using their own supplies, talents, and time. The ideas are already swirling around the Stampers as to what to create for next year’s auction.
This month’s project leader was JoAnn Gantos, and she brought us a holiday card that could let your creative side come out. The inside of the card had four panels that popped up when the card was opened that had many opportunities for creativity. We are grateful for the table teacher’s guidance and careful eye in keeping us on track, as it is easy to get distracted socializing with your tablemates and missing steps in getting your card together. This card, as with most we make, has many other possibilities besides being a holiday card.
As 2023 is a new year, it will also present many new techniques and card designs as the project leaders sign up to teach us this amazing craft. The new board will add other times for stamping opportunities. Stampers are honored to continue with our support for the military on our scheduled first Friday of the month SOT card making day, and as we prepare to start making cards for the silent auction and gathering ideas for a Christmas card that is chosen by the SOT board that Stampers make and SOT sends to all military on the roster.
Sassy Stampers Club wishes you and your family a beautiful, blessed, and safe holiday season. Look for us in 2023!
