Sassy Stampers Update

Cherlyn Conway

The Sassy Stampers Club met on April 20 for the monthly business meeting and card making day. It was a full house as we gathered to make a card brought to us by Debbie Warrick. This fun, front-fold card opens to share any special sentiment, flower, or design to fit the occasion. I think it will be one of this Stamper’s go-to cards!

Sassy Stampers have rolled into 2024 with supplies newly refreshed and ready for the many events that will be up for offering for the club.

As a club, we have:

• A monthly meeting on the third Saturday of every month. A Stamper leads the group in making a card showing various techniques of card making.

• SOT (Support Our Troops) card making day, which is the first Friday of every month. Patriotic supplies are set out for Stampers to make Thank You and Thinking of You cards for our heroes on the Support Our Troops military roster. Often Stampers will come pick up supplies and make the cards at home.

• The Stampathon is the second Saturday of every month. The club’s cabinets are open, and any paid member of the Sassy Stampers can come and use any of the club’s supplies, which include embossing folders, stamps, die cuts, and all the different equipment the club has to offer. Stampers are required to bring their own ink, paper, and adhesives.

The club has the room on the third Monday of each month, which provides an opportunity for special project days, which have encompassed Shoebox event, SOT Baby Shower assembly, and techniques days. Future events planned for those Mondays are the Book Card Project and Notepad Folio Project.

The board has arranged for special projects through all of 2024.

As you can see, there is something for everyone when you’re a Sassy Stamper. It doesn’t matter your skill level. There are always plenty of experienced Stampers to share their knowledge, their favorite must-have supplies, or little tricks that make the card look exquisite.

The beautiful cards that are made are displayed monthly in the showcase outside Room 104 in the CATC. April Bayne and Jean Euker set up a color-themed calendar at the beginning of each year, and the window is filled with cards made by Stampers of those colors. The window is always a showstopper and an excellent display of what Sassy Stampers is about. What cannot be displayed is the fellowship, bond, and the love for each other that this group shares.

In the words of Sylvia Plath, “The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.” We hope to see you peeking inside our window soon to explore your creativity.
