The creative juices are flowing as the Robson Ranch Women’s Golf Association Play Day Committee gets our golf clubs swinging for another season. Play Day Chairs Staci Brown and Yvonne Callaway are busy each week setting up the Tuesday play days for the Robson Ranch Women’s Golf Association. Not only do they send out reminders for ladies to sign up for play days, they and their team also have the daunting task of setting up the game in Golf Genius, which enables the play day pairings, score cards, and live scoring in Golf Genius.
Each week Yvonne or Staci sends out sign-ups and reminders with humor and education in each message as they describe the game of the week. They have some creative team games planned this year and games where players play their own ball and individual scores count. Either way, there are multiple ways to play! Here are some examples: “Team Two Best Balls,” on odd holes on front nine times two best balls on even holes of back side; “Amen Corner,” own ball drop, three hardest holes on each nine; “Bad Little Nine Scramble,” count the team score on the “Bad Little 9s;” “Indy 500 Team,” 2×4, count all four net balls on holes 7, 8, 9, and 10 and the two lowest net balls on the remaining holes; “Hay Putting Challenge,” own ball, count only putts; “With a Little Help from My Friends Scramble,” red (par 4), silver (par 5), gold (par 3) scramble; and “Hole-in-O.N.E.S.,” own ball, count holes that start with O.N.E.S.
Play days can be challenging to pull together, so Staci and Yvonne have an awesome “power team” to help make play days go down as easy as your swing and as smooth as your “putter like butter”! Team members: on computer: Lea Ann Kirby, Malinda Hall, and Kathy Calloway; check-in: Becky Kendall and Sue Halstead; games: Brenda Watson, Connie Metzler, and Judy Fletcher.
So, whether you play poorly on some days and lights out on other days, you are sure to have fun in the sun with this group leading the way. Come join us and see how many ways you can play!
