The After Schoolers Yell ‘Yee Haw!’ After a Successful Sold-Out Concert Event

Mandi Marshall

The After Schoolers have a long history of working hard to support teachers in two Denton schools, and Robson Ranch residents have always stepped up to help! Borman Elementary and LaGrone Academy are our recipient schools, which provide education to low socioeconomic students.

While we are known for our hard work with the Robson Ranch Yard Sale, we also have decided to kick up our heels and have some fun while raising funds for this good cause. Our first concert was a complete success! The Whiskey Bandits country and western band entertained a sold-out crowd. It was a great night of dancing, toe tapping, and listening to great music. Couples showed off their dance moves, and Robson’s own Roberta “Bert” Zeitlin led line dancing throughout the night. The band even had a patriotic session playing the national anthem while flags were waved and guests sang along. Overall, it was a great night spending time with friends and raising funds for teachers.

Mark your calendars! After Schoolers are looking forward to our Sept. 7 return of the Whiskey Bandits and our Oct. 21 Robson Ranch Garage Sale. With the funds we’ve raised, we will be taking classroom supplies and goodies to the teachers in August and delivering monetary donations to both schools.

We are always looking for new members! Did you know that you only need the desire to help teachers and schools to join? All are welcome! We meet every second Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the clubhouse (August through May).
