We had a special demonstration on some of the extended features of using Speedball Elegant Writer Calligraphy pens.
Artist Carolyn Buchman brought in some different weight watercolor papers and began demonstrating the effects one can achieve by using the pens to draw with, and then adding a small amount of water with fine line brushes. The lines would begin to blur out and create lovely watercolor effects. Discussion also included using watercolor pencils, and artist Joan McDermott explores using watercolor crayons which creates very unique textures. A few of us in turn tried our own hand at creating visual images and we enjoyed it! Here are some of the group’s artworks that were created by using the pens. Enjoy!
