First, let me remind all our residents to get ready for a new exhibition that will be featured in the clubhouse hallways. This exhibition is titled “The Ism Exhibition.” The dates are March 27 through April 1. The Grand Opening Reception is March 29 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., with a cash bar.

Residents will have an opportunity to match up our artists’ style with an “ism.” So, brush up on your art history.

Three winners will be able to pick an original piece of artwork when we tally the results.

Here are some of the isms: Realism, Classicism, Mannerism, Baroque, Romanticism, Impressionism, Expressionism, Abstract Expression, Pointillism, Symbolism, Fauvism, Cubism, Dadaism, Surrealism, Constructionism, Modernism, Op Art, Minimalism.

We recently had a birthday party for JJ Melkus. He is a great addition to our class!

Also, one of our very talented artists, Ray Blanton, has his artwork on view in a showcase at CATC.

Ray is a native Texan, born and raised in Fort Worth. Ray married his high school sweetheart and raised two sons. Although Ray never received any formal training in the Arts, his artwork is outstanding! He brings his realistic style to our club, plus some great music.
