I’m sure we are just one of many wine groups in Robson Ranch but, boy, do we have a good time. We began in May of 2021 with an eclectic group of seven couples. Meeting monthly, usually in one of our homes, we share appetizers and desserts brought by each couple while the host couple shares the background of the wines they have chosen for that month’s tasting. We, of course, have tasted wines from California but have ventured around the world to France, Italy, Argentina, Australia, Greece, and Texas.
In September we decided to mix it up and planned a four-course dinner with Robson Ranch’s sommelier Tom Maxwell. He introduced us to four wines from the Paso Robles wineries in California. The Rose’ complimented our sea bass ceviche and Chardonnay enhanced our Spinach salad. Our main course featuring beef was made even more delicious with a Daou Cabernet, and our finale of a Beringer Red Blend paid homage to our dessert trio.
We came together as fellow pickleball players, tennis enthusiasts, neighbors, and wine lovers to share our interests, cooking skills, and travel experiences and to learn about wine. We have an extraordinary time doing this each month. Our founding members are Joseph and Dianne Ace, Tracy Hagerson and Dale McHenry, Bob and Lisa Hill, Marty and Monte McCormick, Carol and Armando Reyes, Suzy and Wallis Spangler, and Lorie and Charlie Stockton.
