With Democrats, When Action Meets Compassion, Lives Change

The big, bold ideas of Democrats: Stephanie Draper, Angela Brewer, Delia Parker Mims, and Carl Oscar Sherman

Vicki Baker

There is one party united in service to Texans and dedicated to the belief that everyone in the Lone Star State has the right to build a life for themselves and their families. That’s the Texas Democratic Party. We admit we’re embarking on a challenging journey as we work to regain momentum here, but we stand strong fighting for a brighter, more equal future for everyone.

With a full slate of candidates up and down the ballot in this 2024 election cycle, the Robson Ranch Democratic Club is rolling up our sleeves and organizing to build a better Texas and America for all. In the upcoming months, we’ll be bringing to our community candidates running for a variety of local, state, and national elected offices. The January membership meeting introduced four dynamic individuals:

Stephanie Draper, running to represent Texas House Senate District 12, possesses over 25 years of experience in leadership as a small business owner and over a decade working with the Denton County Elections Department. Believing our voices are not being heard in Austin, she vows to be an advocate for women’s rights, public schools, and term limits. Learn more at www.draperfortexas.com.

Carl Oscar Sherman, candidate for U.S. Senate, has a background as a city manager, a seasoned businessman, and a former mayor, equipping him to understand and address the diverse challenges faced by rural, suburban, and urban Texans. His legislative priorities are education, including higher education; enhanced/strategic economic development; social justice reform; and legislation benefiting senior citizens. Angela Brewer believes democracy succeeds only when voters have choices. As a leader who embraces innovative problem-solving and critical thinking, she is ready to fight for the citizens of House District 64 in the Statehouse. Learn more at www.facebook.com/angelafortexas.

Delia Parker Mims, current Denton County Democratic Party Chair running for re-election, has effectively led the party since 2001, instituting the largest and most targeted voter registration program among county Democratic parties in Texas, thereby successfully increasing the number of Democratic votes in recent elections. As Democrats, our charge is clear—we must fight back, organize, and refuse to cede any ground in the 2024 election cycle. We must compete everywhere, for every vote. Get to know your local party leaders and candidates, as well as other activists. Attend the Robson Ranch Democratic Club’s meetings held on the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the clubhouse.
