Our Pray, Praise, and Play group was ready to embark on a day of joy, connection, and inspiration. We gathered at Theresa Peoples’ welcoming home where we started our day with refreshments, heartfelt prayers, and warm conversations. Then, with excitement, we headed out to the breathtaking Dallas Arboretum where the gardens were transformed into a mesmerizing fall wonderland. Thousands upon thousands of pumpkins were on display—huts made of pumpkins and the Great Pumpkin Patch where children played and enjoyed a school trip. Some of us even dared to explore the Pumpkin Patch hay maze!
While the sun gently warmed us, majestic live oaks and magnolia trees provided us with refreshing shade, and a gentle breeze made our adventure even more enjoyable. The gardens were lush with beautiful lavender, blue daze, dichondra, salvia, papaya, dark purple celosia, fan flowers, bright red and yellow canna lilies, and so much more!
Following our outdoor escapade, we indulged in a scrumptious lunch at the enchanting Restaurant DeGolyer, overlooking the serene White Rock Lake. But the highlight of our journey awaited—a guided tour of the DeGolyer House, a historical gem that took two years to build (1938-1940) and proudly holds its place on the National Register of Historic Places. Trust us; it’s an absolute must-see!
