What do 50-, 60-, 70-, and 80-plus-year-old women all have in common? They all need a break occasionally. No cooking, cleaning, shopping … but, instead, laughing, playing, singing, worship, and getting to know each other and our Lord Jesus Christ on a personal level.
Not only were there lessons on life, with and without Christ, taught by Kathy Howard and Kathy Jeffrey, but we also learned a Jewish dance led by Bobbi Stringer. Lots of music led by Paula Hemingway and Jerri Sparks, but there was also plenty of time to catch up on sleep and to eat yummy food others had cooked.
The accommodations at Camp Copass were comfortable and clean, as always, and the weather was perfect. But best of all were the friendships that were made as women congregated in one place to learn about the God who loves us most and loved us first.
One participant at the retreat, Linda R. Smith, shared how much it meant to her that a Robson Angel came and sat with her husband after his recent surgery for her to attend the retreat. With tears in her eyes, she thanked Women Sharing Hope for providing opportunities that even caregivers can take advantage of each month.
Women Sharing Hope usually meets on the third Friday at the clubhouse at 10 a.m., but there will not be a November event. Instead, the next meeting is Dec. 1 at 10 a.m. at the clubhouse. There will be improv players, music, instruments, a Christmas buffet lunch, and much more.
