Joyful holiday music, festive decorations, and great food welcomed the attendees at the Robson Ranch Women’s Club December luncheon on Monday, Dec. 2. President Joyce Frey called the meeting to order and President Elect Gayle Coe introduced guests and first-time attendees. Joyce presented reports from the treasurer, membership and service committees, and the December greeters and table decorators were recognized for their generous hospitality and creative efforts, which added to the luncheon’s festive atmosphere.
The December monthly charity, Denton County Friends of the Family, received generous cash donations. In addition, the Women’s Club members donated numerous toys for the Friends of the Family toy drive, which allowed the children enrolled in the Friends of the Family programs to have a merry Christmas.
President Joyce Frey then inducted the 2020 Executive Board: President Gayle Coe; President Elect Lucille Zimmerman; Vice President Membership Cheryl Fisher; Vice President Programs Rebecca Bafford; Treasurer Elma Hinson; Secretary Donna Gardner; Parliamentarian Rose Depoe; and Luncheon Coordinator Kasey Miller. The gavel was then passed to President Gayle Coe and she introduced the 2020 Committee Chairs: Hospitality Ruby Wilson; Publicity Sharon Foy; Webmaster Bert Zeitlin; Historian Carol Cieslik; Service Donnalee Hallenbeck; Sunshine Sandra Mankowich; Welcome Glenda Carr; Ways and Means Nancy Garre; Special Projects Peggy Crandell; Electronics Jodie Konvicka; and Community Relations Nanci Odom.
The members enjoyed a great holiday buffet luncheon complete with pork loin, cranberry chutney, roasted potatoes, savory green beans, and pecan pie and whipped cream. The luncheon’s program celebrated the season with joyful and uplifting holiday music performed by professional vocalist Cheryl Allison and Women’s Club member and accomplished pianist, Rebecca Bafford, and the Gen2Jazz Band. The last luncheon of the year ended with a beautiful program and a great holiday spirit!
