New shop manager, exciting training opportunities, and membership open for aspiring woodworkers!
The Robson Ranch Woodworkers are ushering in the new year with enthusiasm and a commitment to craftsmanship. Dave Popejoy recently stepped up into the role of shop manager, succeeding Larry Ditch. Our heartfelt thanks to Larry for his dedication over the past few years. Having a shop manager is crucial for the success of the woodshop, considering it operates entirely on a volunteer basis.
The year 2024 promises to be a year of growth and learning for the Woodworkers, with a plethora of training opportunities on the horizon. A recent Ring Master/Bowl Making class has already been successfully conducted, setting the stage for monthly training sessions still currently in the planning stages. Mark Freeman, a dedicated volunteer, has taken on the responsibility of coordinating and scheduling these training sessions for club members. This initiative is expected to provide newer woodworkers with the skills they eagerly wish to develop through both classroom and hands-on experiences.
For those aspiring to join the Woodworkers Club, membership is open, with dues set at $50 per year, plus an additional $10 for the safety training course. Once a member, individuals gain access to a wealth of training classes and a mentorship program, pairing new woodworkers with experienced counterparts. Moreover, members enjoy unrestricted access to all the necessary supplies, allowing them to embark on as many projects as they can complete throughout the year. With its comprehensive offerings, the Woodworkers Club stands out as the best bargain on the Ranch.
In the heart of the CATC building, the Woodworkers are not just crafting projects. They are building a community that fosters skill development, creativity, and camaraderie. As the new year unfolds, the Robson Ranch Woodworkers are poised to continue their legacy of turning raw materials into works of art, one project at a time. Whether you are a seasoned woodworker or someone looking to explore the world of woodworking, the club welcomes all with open arms, promising a fulfilling and enriching experience in the realm of craftsmanship.
