In every season of life, friendship matters. A caring conversation, a shared laugh, or simply knowing someone is thinking about you can make all the difference—especially during times of illness, loss, or isolation. That is the heart behind the Women Sharing Hope ministry, You’ve Got a Friend.
Built on the scripture, “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity” (Proverbs 17:17), this ministry was created to bring encouragement, companionship, and Christian fellowship to women in Robson Ranch who may be feeling lonely or disconnected from others.
Life circumstances can change quickly. Health challenges, mobility limitations, caregiving responsibilities, or the loss of a spouse can make it difficult for women to remain socially active. Even those who once enjoyed a full calendar of activities may suddenly find themselves spending more time alone at home. You’ve Got a Friend exists to remind these women that they are not forgotten and that meaningful friendships can still flourish in every stage of life.
The ministry connects women seeking companionship with caring Robson Ranch ladies who feel called to be a consistent friend and visitor. Through thoughtful conversations, prayer, and God’s guidance, participants are matched together based on personalities, interests, and individual needs.
Visits may take place weekly or bi-weekly, depending on what works best for both women. Some visits may involve sharing coffee and conversation, while others might include playing games, working on a hobby, reading devotionals together, or simply sitting and listening. Often, it is the small acts of kindness and presence that provide the greatest comfort.
The ministry recognizes that isolation affects everyone differently. Some women may still be active but unable to get out as often as they once did. Others may be largely homebound due to significant health concerns. Whatever the situation, the goal remains the same: creating meaningful social connection and reminding women they are valued, cared for, and loved.
Women Sharing Hope also understands that caregiving and support come in many forms. While You’ve Got a Friend focuses primarily on companionship and emotional encouragement, Women Sharing Hope offers a broader network of ministries that may assist with additional needs such as occasional transportation or meal preparation. Together, these ministries work to strengthen and support the Robson Ranch community through compassion and service.
The ministry is led by Karen Faust, who coordinates both those requesting visits and those volunteering to serve as friends.
You’ve Got a Friend is a simple but powerful reminder that no one should walk through difficult seasons alone.
