After Schoolers Annual Food Drive: So Much Need and So Many Givers

Lavelle Carlson

Here at Robson Ranch, Denton, we have some of the most generous people. The After Schoolers group greatly appreciates all the help in supporting students and teachers. In the past we have had groups—Kiwanis Club, Pickleball Club and others—who donate money and food for our annual food drive for the low-income families at Borman Elementary. Many individuals, members (and non-members) of After Schoolers, also bring canned food. Unfortunately, the need is much greater this year, and After Schoolers is again asking for donations to make Christmas more memorable for the families at Borman Elementary.

Last year we provided 26 baskets and hope to fill more this year with food as well as scarves, stuffed animals, and books. These are the most popular items: canned goods of vegetables, meats, fruits, spaghetti sauce, chili, pasta, mac-n-cheese, dried beans, oatmeal, peanut butter, and granola bars.

Donations can be dropped off at a table inside the Robson Clubhouse from 9 to 11 a.m., on Nov. 16, 18, 20, 23, 30, and Dec. 2, 4, and 7.

We will also have days available for drop off to a car parked in front of the clubhouse. There will be a sign to guide you to the car. The days for car drop off are Nov. 23, 30, and Dec. 2 from 11 a.m. to noon.

Thank you, our generous Robson Ranch residents, for supporting these Denton families.
