The Photography Club is off and running with amazing photos submitted by its members. Our Robson club includes people that shoot their photos with cell phones, point and shoot cameras and professional cameras and equipment. There is a place for anyone of any ability in our club. Personal mentors are available for any member with a need or request for help. Sounds like a win-win situation for anyone with a desire to take photos with good results.
The January award winner is titled Portland Head Light and was submitted by Bill Moore from his trip to Maine. He took this beautiful photograph with his Nikon D300. It is a stunning winner and is on display in the photography case in the Creative Arts building showcase with the other photo winners of January.
The February award winner is titled Calm After The Storm, and it is also on display with the other great winners. Since all the names of the winners are announced at the March meeting, everyone can guess who took the winning images. Maybe one of those images is yours? Go take a look!
Every fourth Tuesday of each month a workshop is provided to all Ranch residents in the CATC building, room 104. Due to the extreme weather we had, our Feb. workshop was postponed to March 10 at 9:30 a.m. and the topic will be Basic Photography 101 presented by Steve Russell. This is a great time to ask questions about your camera and abilities!
Monthly meetings are on the third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Our next meeting is March 16 in room 104 of the CATC. Last month Tim Battle gave a fantastic presentation on photo composition that spoke to all levels of photography. The March agenda will include another exciting program.
Each month photos can be submitted by members and voted on by the members present. The topic for March will be Danger. This is a time to get those creative juices flowing and think about possible photos that represent the topic. Everyone on the Ranch is invited to come to our meeting March 16 at 7:00 p.m. to enjoy a presentation and photo show for all levels of photography. For those of you with previous commitments, it is perfectly fine to come in late after your commitment. Come join in the fun!
