Linda Smith
Marriage takes teamwork and each of us comes to the table with different skill sets and plays different roles to make it work. If something were to happen to one in the relationship, how would the other do that job? What steps can we take in preparing for the death of a loved one?
If your spouse exits this world first, what do you need to know? Do both of you understand your family’s finances and who to call about them? Do both of you know all the passwords? Where are your important documents kept? Who do you need to notify? Do both of you know how to program the irrigation system, turn on the dishwasher, open the garage door if the power is out, or where the house water cut-off is located? And on and on it goes.
The Robson Ranch group, Women Sharing Hope, is hosting the “Are You Prepared to be Left Behind?” event on Oct. 15, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Robson Ranch Clubhouse. The format will include a panel of widows and widowers who have wisdom gleaned from first-hand experience. There will be small group discussions and a specially prepared handbook of comprehensive advice will be our gift to you. Come alone or with your spouse to learn what practical steps can be taken to prepare both of you for the passing of a loved one.
Let’s talk about what we don’t want to talk about.
If you would like to attend this special presentation, send an RSVP email to Linda Smith at [email protected]. Seating will be limited to 300, so register early.
