About 40 Robson residents gathered in the CATC library for a lively discussion of All the Light We Cannot See, a moving novel of a blind girl navigating war-torn France during World War II.
The discussion, organized by Friends of the Library, was led by Lynn Moore and Joan Pursley. The group agreed that the novel was a moving work and marveled at the quality of the writing by author Anthony Doerr. The book won the Fiction prize in 2015. The next FOL book discussion is a dystopian double header: 1984, by George Orwell, and Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley, on Sept. 14. The discussion leaders are Elaine Kushmaul and Klaus Dannenberg. The discussion will be from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in the library in the CATC building. Like all discussions, it is open to all Robson residents. Wine and snacks will be available.
On Nov. 9 the FOL discussion will focus on David McCullough’s The Pioneers, with Lewis Toland as discussion leader.
Friends of the Library is a nonprofit supporting the Robson Library. Annual dues are $10 per person. You can join or renew by downloading the membership form at www.robsonlibrary.org/fol and following the instructions.
