On June 9 the Women Sharing Hope Community Outreach team visited Our Daily Bread and provided much-needed cool ice cream floats to the homeless guests on a hot summer day. Over 125 root beer and Coke floats were served by 15 team members, and the partakers were very appreciative.
Our Daily Bread feeds, shelters, and cares for the homeless and at-risk in our Denton community while maintaining the dignity of their guests and offering opportunities for a new start.
Our Daily Bread is the only low-barrier shelter open seven days a week offering wraparound services for adults experiencing homelessness in Denton County. At the shelter, they provide three nutritious meals a day, beds, clothing, hot showers, laundry, and other supportive services to their guests. The emergency shelter sleeps up to 145 guests.
Many hands make light the work, and volunteers enable them to carry out their mission every day. They have over 130 shifts available daily. If you have a heart for this type of community service or would like more information, contact them at 940-566-1308 or [email protected].
Women Sharing Hope exists to develop friendships, grow in faith, and share God’s love. We meet the third Friday of each month at 10 a.m. at the clubhouse where we gather to strengthen our walk with God by learning more about Him and His love for us. Each month has a different theme and different guest speakers who address situations and issues many of us deal with in our daily lives. Women Sharing Hope also has several outreach programs that support the Robson Ranch community which include a Widows Support program, Robson Angels Supporting Caregivers, and Games for Dames.
If interested in receiving invitations to Women Sharing Hope monthly meetings, please contact Catherine Simpson at 817-707-7707 or [email protected]. Watch for the Punchbowl invitation each month. Please come and bring a friend. We would love to get to know you!
