Got a man’s old long-sleeved shirt? Don’t throw it away! You can turn that old shirt into a creative apron. With a pair of scissors, some simple cutting techniques, and a sewing machine and thread, you can turn that old shirt into an apron. Bobbie Splawn instructed our group how to cut the shirt apart properly and use the sleeves and back to create pockets and ties, and in a few hours, we left with the finished product. She explained that you can use other fabric pieces, trims, and buttons, along with the sleeves of the shirt, to create pockets and accents as little or as much as you like. “There are no rules,” she told us. “Be creative—it’s your design.” Thank you, Bobbie, for sharing this cute, fun, and quick design and for teaching us how to create our own apron.
