Sept. 26 was a wonderful opportunity for our members to tour the Children’s Advocacy Center for North Texas. We were warmly greeted by the staff to respectfully tour their facility and learn how they help the children who enter their doors. Their mission is to provide counselors, advocates, and medical professionals to see to their needs. They also provide food, clothing, and household items as needed from their well-stocked Rainbow Room filled with donated or purchased items. Their foremost concern is to help children, and often their families as well, heal and see that they return to a safe environment.
After the tour, we enjoyed lunch at Shoal Creek Tavern in Highland Village, and there was much discussion about how we, as a group or as individuals, can help the Center with their mission.
