Our general session meeting was held on Aug. 19 at 7 p.m. in Room 104, at the Creative Arts and Technology Center. Our guest speaker was Alan Daniels of the Plano Photography Club and Heard Nature Photographers. The presentation topic was “A Few of My Feathered Friends.”

Alan discussed his interest in bird photography and shared some of his favorite images, along with a few stories from his time out photographing birds. His interest in birds began in 2017 with a long lens rental and a trip to Sunset Bay at White Rock Lake where he photographed his first egret. Seven years and more than a few thousand images have provided a great deal of entertainment and an education into what it takes to create interesting and beautiful images of birds. He shared some tips and tricks that he acquired along the way, which could prove to be useful for those who want to try their hand at bird photography.

Our next general session will be held on Monday, Sept. 16. We hope to see everyone then.
